Cotonou, 29 October 2021 – Glo-Djigbe Industrial Zone (GDIZ) is pleased to announce that it currently has ten investors set up in the zone. Among these investors, several companies such as ORYX, SYRRIUS, SIBP, M. AUTO, FHC MEDICA, JNP, GROUPE AIGLE, PORTEO, SIDDHI PHARMA and PIERRE NAT, have already signed the contract and reserved their space in the zone. They will generate high-value exports for Benin and in the process create 12,000 skilled jobs by end of 2022. These signatures demonstrate the confidence that local and international investors have in the Glo-Djigbé Industrial Zone (GDIZ).
GDIZ is one of the most sophisticated industrial ecosystems in West Africa with complete solutions offered to customers for efficient logistics to and from the zone, best-in-class warehousing and material-handling solutions, as well as world-class waste disposable systems for environment-friendly management of industrial waste. GDIZ provides industrial groups located in the area with a wide range of tax benefits and modern infrastructure facilitating the creation of value chains from local agricultural resources, such as cotton, cashew nuts, soybean, pineapple and shea. With the installation of these partners on the GDIZ, Benin will develop its economic potential through the establishment of infrastructure facilitating the processing of the raw materials concerned and the export of finished products.
GDIZ construction began in February 2021 and will be completed by end of 2022. To date, phase 1, which covers an area of 400 hectares, is estimated at 60% progress. Among the infrastructures and facilities currently being built, we have fire station, fuel stations, electric substation, Water treatment plant, 100,000 sqm warehousing space and fiber optic access amongst many other on-site capabilities. New investors will soon be announced and many others will follow the momentum set in motion to make GDIZ a hub in the sub-region, and a driver of Beninese economy and industry.
As Laurent Gangbes, Director General of APIEx, said during the construction launch ceremony, The GDIZ is designed to be a modern industrial zone, respectful of the highest environmental and social standards, and intended to provide services to different industries. With GDIZ, Benin will become the best industrial platform in West Africa.

Glo-Djibé Industrial Zone (GDIZ), developed by the Société d’Investissement et de Promotion de L’Industrie – BENIN (SIPI BENIN), is a joint-venture between Arise Integrated Industrial Platforms (IIP), Africa Finance Corporation (AFC), and the Republic of Benin. GDIZ is a dynamic industrial zone of 1,640 hectares (phase 1: 400 ha) developed by the ARISE Integrated Industrial Platforms (IIP) which counts among its infrastructures several industrial zones in Africa, notably in Gabon (Gabon Special Economic Zone) and in Togo (Adétikope Industrial Platform) and in other countries of the continent.
