The President Patrice Talon reached out to Beninese farmers from the soybean sectors among others.
At the end of the discussions, three major decisions were taken:
- Revision of the soybean transfer price
- Change of payment method
- Launch of agricultural campaigns by the Government
Soybean stocks available from 14 April 2023 will be purchased by the State through SIPI Benin SA in 21 collection points, at the revised prices of 270 FCFA/kg for conventional soybean and 320 FCFA/kg for organic soybean.
These decisions support the State’s ban on the export of cashew and soybeans in their raw form from April 2024. Indeed, these resources will now be systematically transformed locally, creating value for Benin!
