On Wednesday, February 21, 2024, Glo-Djigbé Industrial Zone (GDIZ) welcomed a delegation of senior military officers from various countries. This study visit, focusing on the topic “textile industry and national development in Benin,” is part of the academic activities of the National Defence College (NDC) of Nigeria, a leading institution for the training of senior officers and peacekeeping operations in West Africa.
The delegation, received by Mr. Yannick Capiron, General Manager of Textile and Garment within GDIZ, visited the Garment Training and Production Centers as well as the state-of-the-art facilities of the textile park within the Zone. During this visit, the officers were able to observe military uniforms being produced for the Beninese armed forces. This experience facilitated fruitful exchanges on practices and innovations in the textile industry, while strengthening cooperation ties between the represented countries.

This visit demonstrates the importance placed by military institutions on international collaboration in industrial development and regional security. It also paves the way for new partnership opportunities and knowledge sharing for the mutual benefit of the involved nations.
