Dear Colleagues,

The recent reinstatement of the AGOA (African Growth and Opportunity Act) by the United States represents excellent news for Benin and a strong strategic argument for GDIZ.

Since 3 February 2026, Benin has once again benefited from preferential access to the US market, enabling several categories of products to be exported duty-free until 31 December 2026.

Why is this decisive for GDIZ?

This decision:

  • Strengthens the competitiveness of “Made in Benin” products
  • Facilitates access to a market of over 330 million consumers
  • Enhances the value of key sectors developed within GDIZ, particularly textiles and agro-industrial processing
  • Positions GDIZ as a strategic export platform to the United States

Key message to convey

Investing in GDIZ today means producing in Benin with preferential access to the US market.

We encourage you to systematically incorporate this advantage into your presentations and discussions with investors and partners.
