The Lagos stage of the Benin-Nigeria Business Forum 2026 was successfully held on 28 January 2026, marking an exceptional mobilisation with 300 Nigerian business leaders gathering to explore investment opportunities in Benin.

This strong turnout reflects the Nigerian private sector’s growing interest in Benin’s economic ecosystem, against a backdrop of remarkable growth in bilateral trade.

The mobilisation of the Nigerian business community, with the active participation of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), the Federation of West African Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FEWACCI) and Badagry Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (BACCIMA), confirms the commitment of Nigeria’s leading economic institutions to this dynamic of cooperation.

As stated by Mr Faki ADJE, Deputy Managing Director of SIPI-BENIN S.A. : “In 2024, Benin’s exports to Nigeria increased by more than 90%, illustrating a dynamic and promising market. Glo-Djigbé Industrial Zone (GDIZ) provides the infrastructure needed to seize this opportunity.

A clear dynamic is emerging: the Nigerian private sector is mobilised, Beninese institutions are aligned, and the GDIZ is ready to translate this cooperation into large-scale industrial projects.
