The special fire brigade of Glo-Djigbé Industrial Zone (GDIZ) benefited from a skills enhancement through a series of practical training sessions led by CanadAfrique Association, a Canadian organisation committed to supporting emergency services in Africa.
Animated by Mr Olivier Rodrigue, mission leader for the 2025 edition, the training enabled GDIZ firefighters to deepen their knowledge of industrial intervention techniques through demonstrations, exchanges of best practices, and practical feedback.
“Exchanging skills with GDIZ firefighters has been a great experience. We worked together on rescue techniques in industrial environments. It is always a pleasure to share this passion for helping others. The atmosphere was excellent,” said Mr Olivier Rodrigue.
For GDIZ firefighters, these exchanges represent an opportunity to raise their level of response within the Zone.
“This training by CanadAfrique Association allows us to improve our operations within the Zone. The firefighters have acquired essential tools and techniques to respond quickly and effectively in emergencies,” said Captain Expédit Akambi, commander of the special fire brigade of GDIZ.
This skills development strengthens safety within GDIZ, ensuring better protection of infrastructure, businesses, and individuals operating in the industrial zone.
