Glo-Djigbé, February 16, 2022 – With an investment amount estimated at seven (7) billion FCFA (approximately 10 million euros), HRD Industries, a company specializing in the processing of agricultural products, is officially the 25th company to invest in the Glo-Djigbé Industrial Zone – Zè (GDIZ-Zè).
HRD Industries is one of the entities of the multinational HRD GROUP, present in the UAE, India and Nigeria. It has set foot in the GDIZ and will be basing its activity in an oil and bio-charcoal production unit in which cashew nut shells will be used for production. This unit has an annual production capacity of 50,000 liters of oil and 45,000 tons of bio-charcoal.
The kickstarting of HRD Industries activities is scheduled for September 2022 on an area of three hectares, allowing the GDIZ to become a zero-waste zone from cashew nut processing. 17,000 direct jobs and 15,000 indirect jobs are planned by December 2023 as part of the implementation of the entire cashew processing zone.
This new investment in the area confirms the confidence that local and international investors put in GDIZ, as it now has a count of 25 investors.
