Top Junior High School and High School graduates of Benin visit GDIZ
On Tuesday, 29 July 2025, the Ministry of Secondary, Technical and Vocational Education organised the Excellence Day 2025 to honour the top achievers in the national examinations for the Junior High School Certificate and the High School Diploma.
As part of the celebration, 27 students, the highest-ranked from each department in the 2025 Junior High School Certificate and the High School Diploma exams, visited GDIZ, with Mrs Véronique Tognifodé, Minister of Secondary, Technical and Vocational Education.
The delegation was warmly received by Mr Faki Adjé, Deputy Managing Director of SIPI-BENIN S.A., who provided a comprehensive overview of GDIZ’s operations, its development goals, and its role in generating skilled employment. The students were then given the opportunity to tour several production units, including garment manufacturing and tile production facilities.
This immersive experience allowed these young talents to discover the professional opportunities within Benin’s rapidly expanding industrial sectors.
Beyond the official recognition of their academic success, this visit to GDIZ offered the laureates a glimpse into the future, raising their awareness of the opportunities and challenges tied to national economic development. It served as a powerful reminder that academic excellence is a springboard for actively contributing to Benin’s progress.
