On Thursday, March 5, 2026, Mrs Shadiya Alimatou Assouman, Minister of Industry and Trade, and Mr Gaston Dossouhoui, Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, carried out a working visit to the construction site of Ehua Industries plant located within Glo-Djigbé Industrial Zone (GDIZ).

The purpose of the visit was to assess the progress of construction works on this industrial facility dedicated to the production of animal feed. This strategic project aims to strengthen local production of feed for livestock, with a particular focus on the poultry sector.

The establishment of this plant will significantly contribute to the development of poultry farming in Benin. Feed is indeed a critical factor in livestock productivity, especially in poultry production. By producing high-quality feed locally, the facility will help support the growth of the poultry sector while reducing reliance on imports.

As the visit took place during the period marking the celebration of International Women’s Day, the ministers also took the opportunity to pay tribute to Mrs Anick Achi Magne, promoter of Ehua Industries, commending her commitment and contribution to Benin’s economic development. They also highlighted the important role played by women entrepreneurs in the country’s industrial transformation.

At the end of the visit, both ministers expressed their satisfaction with the progress of the works. They also praised the quality of the stakeholders involved in the implementation of the project, which they believe will ensure high-quality finished products once the plant becomes operational.
