From 7 to 9 September 2026, Benin hosted the annual meeting of the Forum of Deposit and Consignment Funds (CDC), held under the theme “From resources to impact: CDCs as catalysts for development.” Organised by CDC Benin, which currently chairs the Forum, the meeting brought together leaders, experts and stakeholders in finance and economic development from several countries in Cotonou.

During the first day, participants discussed the role of CDCs in mobilising resources and turning them into investments that support economic and social development. Mr. Létondji BEHETON, Managing Director of SIPI-BENIN S.A., also took part in the day’s discussions.

The following day, Forum participants visited GDIZ. They toured Benin Textile S.A. (Btex), Benin Textile Corporation (BTC) and Société Béninoise de Cosmétiques (SOBECO), giving them an opportunity to discover first-hand the industrial model developed within the Zone.

As a shareholder in GDIZ textile park, CDC Benin also contributes to the development of this industrial ecosystem. The visit provided representatives of the different CDCs with an opportunity to discover the model and learn more about how it operates.

In line with the theme of the meeting, “From resources to impact,” the visit to GDIZ showed how investment can translate into value creation and job opportunities, with a tangible impact on the economy.
