A working session to strengthen GDIZ’s attractiveness
On 12th June 2026, Mr Olushegun Adjadi Bakari, Minister of Tourism and Foreign Trade, responsible for African Integration, Industry and Promotion of Private Investment, was welcomed to GDIZ by Mr Létondji Beheton, Managing DIrector of SIPI-Benin S.A., and Mr Eric Akouté, Managing Director of APIEx.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss opportunities for continuously enhancing the industrial environment within the Zone and supporting the competitiveness of companies operating there.
The working session was followed by site visits to three (03) operational production units within GDIZ:
- Société Béninoise de Cosmétiques (SOBECO): specialised in the manufacture of cosmetic products;
- Benin Textile S.A.: specialised in the production of home textiles;
- Benin Cashew S.A.: specialised in cashew nut processing.
This visit reflects Minister Olushegun Adjadi Bakari’s commitment to supporting the continued development of GDIZ.
Spotlight on Société Béninoise de Cosmétiques (SOBECO)
Located within GDIZ on a 3.5-hectare site, Société Béninoise de Cosmétiques (SOBECO) specialises in the manufacture of cosmetic products and has an annual production capacity of 600 tonnes.
