The opening ceremony took place on July 23, at Sofitel Hotel in Cotonou, in the presence of key fashion industry players, public institutions, and members of the creative youth.
On this occasion, Mr Faki ADJE, Deputy Managing Director of SIPI-BENIN S.A., spoke during the panel discussion ‘Structuring the fashion and textile sector in Benin: challenges and opportunities’. He highlighted:

- the industrial infrastructure developed to support the growth of the textile sector, and
- the public support mechanisms encouraging the emergence of a competitive, sustainable, and export-oriented Beninese fashion industry.
Prior to the ceremony, fashion designers, members of the Beninese Association of Fashion Creators (ACMB) visited GDIZ to explore the industrial ecosystem designed to make ‘Made in Benin’ a high value-added reality.
