Federal Republic of Germany and World Bank Ministers visit GDIZ
On Thursday, March 07, 2024, Glo-Djigbé Industrial Zone (GDIZ) had the honour of hosting Mrs. Svenja Schulze, Minister of Economic Cooperation and Development of the Federal Republic of Germany, and Ousmane Diagana, Vice-President of the World Bank for West and Central Africa.
Led by Mr. Romuald Wadagni, Senior Minister, Minister of Economy and Finance in charge of Cooperation, this visit is part of a joint initiative between the Federal Republic of Germany and the World Bank in West Africa, particularly in Benin and Burkina Faso. This initiative aims to renew support for local populations by promoting inclusive economic opportunities.

During their visit to GDIZ, the delegation had the opportunity to visit several industries already operational within the Zone. The positive impact of these industries on the socio-economic development of Benin did not escape the attention of Mr. Ousmane Diagana, who emphasised the crucial importance of Glo-Djigbé Industrial Zone for the advancement of the Beninese nation, stating: “GDIZ illustrates Benin’s development ambition. Congratulations!”
This joint visit by the Federal Republic of Germany and the World Bank demonstrates the enthusiasm surrounding the ongoing industrial revolution in Benin thanks to GDIZ.
The President of the Canadian Senate discovers GDIZ
On March 08, 2024, Glo-Djigbé Industrial Zone (GDIZ) had the honour of receiving Mrs. Raymonde Gagné, President of the Canadian Senate, as part of a parliamentary mission to Benin.
Welcomed by Mr. Létondji BEHETON, Managing Director of the Société d’Investissement et de Promotion de l’Industrie (SIPI-BENIN S.A.), Mrs. Raymonde Gagné visited several installations within the Zone, thus discovering the progress of Benin in the industrial sector.
This visit by the President of the Canadian Senate to GDIZ marks a significant step forward in strengthening the ties between Canada and Benin, while opening up new prospects for lasting international cooperation aimed at boosting the socio-economic development of Benin.
