On Tuesday, 18 February 2025, a delegation of Minister-Counsellors of the Republic of Benin visited Glo-Djigbé Industrial Zone (GDIZ) to assess the progress of this rapidly expanding industrial hub.
Welcomed by Mr. Létondji Béhéton, Managing Director of SIPI-Benin, the visitors attended a detailed presentation on the Zone’s development prospects before touring key infrastructures:
- The Garment Production Unit (GTC)
- The integrated textile Unit : BTex
- The tile production factory of Afrikan Ceramics Solutions (ACS)
Through this visit, the Minister-Counsellors witnessed the tangible impact of GDIZ on Benin’s industrialisation. Covering 1,640 hectares, 400 of which are already operational—GDIZ hosts 14 active production units and has secured 36 confirmed investors, positioning itself as a strategic driver of the national economy.
“Thanks to these bold reforms and strategic investments, our country is strengthening its industrial sovereignty and creating real opportunities for young people.” – Janvier YAHOUEDEOU, Coordinator of Minister-Counsellors.
By promoting the local transformation of raw materials, GDIZ enhances Benin’s attractiveness and accelerates job creation.
