Benin’s Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries reviews progress at EHUA Industries construction site in GDIZ
On August 11, 2026, Mr Adin Yeton BLOUKOUNON GOUBALAN, Benin’s Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, with senior officials from his ministry, visited the construction site of EHUA Industries, an agro-industrial complex currently being developed within GDIZ.
The site visit provided the Minister and his delegation with an opportunity to tour the various facilities and assess the progress of the ongoing works. At the end of the visit, the delegation expressed satisfaction with the progress made on the project.
Specialising in the production of livestock and poultry feed, EHUA Industries will help reduce Benin’s reliance on imports while promoting the local processing of agricultural raw materials. The project will thereby contribute to the development of the country’s agricultural and livestock sectors and strengthen Benin’s position as a leading agro-industrial hub in the sub-region.
GDIZ gas pipeline project: SBPE’s new Managing Director conducts technical visit
The new Managing Director of Société Béninoise de Production d’Électricité (SBPE), Mr Laurent TOSSOU, conducted a technical visit to GDIZ to assess the progress of the gas project being developed by Benin Gas Transportation and Solutions S.A. (BGTS).
The project notably comprises a 30-km gas pipeline connecting Maria-Gléta gas facility to GDIZ, two gas terminals, a 27-km distribution underground pipeline, and a natural gas Pressure Regulating and Metering Station (PRMS) within the Zone.
Once commissioned, the project will strengthen the energy supply to industries operating within GDIZ by providing a continuous supply of natural gas. This cleaner and more competitive energy solution will help reduce companies’ production costs and enhance their overall competitiveness.
During the visit, Mr Laurent TOSSOU and his delegation inspected several key components of GDIZ gas infrastructure, including the receiving terminal, the regulating station and the natural gas Pressure Regulating and Metering Station (PRMS). They also visited Benin Textile (Btex), Benin Textile Corporation (BTC) and Afrikan Ceramics Solutions (ACS) to review the dedicated gas installations and observe how natural gas is used within these industrial units.
The visit continued at Maria-Gléta, where the delegation inspected the gas dispatch terminal located near the Maria-Gléta power plant.
The implementation of this project marks an important milestone in strengthening GDIZ’s energy infrastructure and supporting the continued expansion of its industrial activities.
