GDIZ donates 100 mosquito nets

As part of World Malaria Day, GDIZ organised an awareness session on malaria prevention for parents of students attending preschools in Anavié and Agbodjèdo.

With the participation of medical staff from Sékou Health Centre and several local stakeholders, this initiative provided resources to effectively combat malaria.

The event was marked by the distribution of 100 long-lasting insecticidal nets to all children attending the targeted preschools. Long-lasting insecticidal nets are recognised as one of the most effective ways to prevent mosquito bites that transmit malaria, thus offering an essential physical barrier to reduce the risk of infection.

Through this initiative, GDIZ once again demonstrates its commitment to the health and well-being of local communities.

Textile Roadshow in Benin

GDIZ hosted the inaugural edition of its Textile Roadshow, a significant event aimed at promoting investment opportunities in the textile sector and fostering international partnerships.

Organised by the Beninese Government, the International Finance Corporation (IFC), and the Benin Investment and Export Promotion Agency (APIEx-Benin), this gathering brought together key players from both the global textile industry and Benin.

The objective of this event was to showcase the advantages and incentives offered by the Beninese Government for investment in the textile sector, while providing a conducive platform for exchanges and collaborations between national and international textile companies.

The event was marked by the presence of renowned companies such as Gherzi Textil Organisation, Bitopi Group Team Group, Concord Ventures, as well as major Beninese players like Benin Textile (BTex), the Beninese Textile Company (CBT), and Vlisco. These meetings facilitated fruitful discussions on business opportunities and potential partnerships.

Beyond discussions, participants had the opportunity to visit key infrastructure in Benin, including the Glo-Djigbé Industrial Zone (GDIZ). This visit allowed participants of this inaugural Textile Roadshow in Benin to discover the Textile Training and Production Centre, where nearly 1000 young people work, as well as the Textile Park of GDIZ, which spans 50 hectares. Visitors were impressed by the modern textile facilities within the Zone.
This Roadshow strengthens ties among textile sector stakeholders and paves the way for new economic development opportunities for GDIZ in the textile sector.
